Well, the last three days I was not here at work, and school has kept me plenty busy. That is not always a good thing, because pretty busy means not at a good pace. And by good pace, I mean that it is either way too slow, or way too fast, all subject independent. The bad thing about that is that neither is at my pace. Especially when the material is quite complicated. No matter how complicated it gets though, there are times when I love it. That is why I do what I do. When people ask me: “Why did you choose Physics for a major?” with a grimace on their face, I say: “Because I enjoy it.”
That is not a lie, I do.
However, for as much complaining about school that I do, I can understand you thinking that I don’t. There are a few classes that I could do without though. Ones that fail to spark my interest so badly that I am tempted to put ‘because I don’t give a rats ass’ as an answer to any given quiz question. I have one of those this semester.
There are also classes that enthrall me, make my mind want to work far beyond what was covered in class and long after class is over, classes that fill me with a drive to know more, and that ‘more’ will never be enough. There are classes that fill me with a drive, a drive that burns so hot and wild it captures my complete and undivided attention and imagination. I have one of these classes this semester too.
“So what is the point to all this rambling?” you are probably (well, most certainly) asking yourself. The answer is simple- No matter how much I like or dislike the course, the professor, time of day I have to be up, the homework and studying involved, the pace at which the material is covered is crucial. No matter if the course is disliked or liked, if it is shoved down your throat it will leave a bad taste. No matter what…
So now that the above groaning is out of my system, let’s take a look at the checklist:
Thermodynamics- The material we have covered since spring break seems to be pretty trivial and irrelevant to anything that we cave covered up until now. That means new stuff is on the horizon, or the professor is just lazy. Neither option would surprise me. Oh, by the way, the material we have started to cover is effusion.
Quantum Mechanics and Relativity- We are covering the Schrödinger equation and probability equations for atomic particles. Believe it or not, it is actually quite fun. Except when I am having to do homework all hours of the day and night. That just tests my patience, not knowledge.
Theoretical Electromagnetism- This class is now moving to electromagnetic waves, as opposed to electrostatics and magnetostatics and applications of. This might be kind of easy from here on out…
Other things are fantastic. In fact, you know what I haven’t blogged about in a while that has had a major advancement this week? Cartoons! And the advancement: Frisky Dingo season 1 came out on DVD!!! Granted, not many people know about this cartoon, but is, well, absolutely hilarious to say the least. If you don’t believe me, then just look at the post card:

I can comfortably wear a thermal undershirt with this one and not look ridiculous. And it was snowing this morning.

As long as I get to pick who I take, ‘where’ doesn’t matter.

That’s tough, because I usually don’t hear it for the first 45 minutes or so…

Miss??? I Still am. And always will be.

The answer to both: just hang out and enjoy the company.

As opposed to ‘fake’ love? Love is just love, and it’s an emotion. The question is in the magnitude of this emotion. ‘Fake’ love would be you lying to yourself. Love can be for someone near or afar, or From Russia (xoxoxo). The biggest problem with this is the magnitude of the ‘love returned’.
22. When did you start feeling old?
When I realized that I thought that I would have done much more with my life at this age 10 years ago… *sigh*

Beef, salami, pastrami, and other ‘amis’.

The feeling like I need a shower. And maybe a small case of The Plague.
